The 1st GTC’s Festival of Voices “IT’S TIME TO SHINE” Kami, The GTC Singers League, mengundang seluruh paduan suara dan vokal grup anda, baik yang bernaung dibawah Sekolah, Universitas, Gereja ataupun komunitas umum lainnya (selanjutnya akan disebut “tim”) untuk bersama mengadakan sebuah konser gabungan.
Pada intinya we have found a new family! Eh tapi eh tapi, sebelum NFF kejadian, kita masih punya satu panggung lagi loh, apalagi kalo bukan MIni Konser awal tahun yang cuma beda 1 minggu sebelumnya sama NFF? Latihan setiap jumat, sabtu dan minggu full day.
Metal banget kan mereka? (Damn, mestinya yang ikut dua2nya disebut tim artis tuh. Elah) GTC’s 3rd Mini Concert “ THE MUSICAL WORLD OF WALT DISNEY” Repertoire. The Musical World of Disney. Lion King Broadway Musical. High School Musical 2 Medley.
Little Mermaid Broadway Musical. I See the Light. Reflection. Colors of the Wind. You’ll be in My Heart. God Help the Outcast. A Whole New World.
Beauty and the Beast Setelah dua event diatas. Semua terasa mantebh, semua terasa maknyos.
Anggota cukup, bonding oke. Yuk kita konser ke ENAM! Dan dimulailah latihan untuk konser Our Pride and Joy GTC’s 6th Concert “OUR PRIDE AND JOY” Session 1. Pure Imagination (Jay Althouse). O Ina Ni Keke. Rosas Pandan (George Hernandez).
Fly to Paradise (Eric Whitacre). Lux Aurumque (Eric Whitacre).
Ludate Dominum (Giedrius Svilanis). The Conversion of Saul (Z.
Randall Stroope). Double, Double Toil and Trouble (Jaakko Mantyarvi). Tap – Tap (Sydney Guillame). Battle of Jerricho (Moses Hogan) Session 2. Never Gonna Wlk This Journey Alone (Greg Giplin). Ikaw Lamang (Eudenice Palaruan).
When I Fall in Love (Kirby Shaw). A Very Special Love (Christopher Borrella).
Gak sampe sold out sih, tapi yang jelas kalo 1 show doang pasti gak muat. Terus nama gimana?
GTC 3rd Concert “FABULOUS” Kita ngintip Yuk foto2nya Sampe backstage langsung nyari makan Eh eh.penontonnya banyak alhamdulilah Ceritanya GR Cie yg abis di dandanin SHOW TIME Session 1. Walt Disney’s Medley. Over the Rainbow.

Jump!
Malam sebelumnya, pas latihan kami diminta buat duduk ngacak –ngga seperti barisan tampil.
Sing a Song of Sixpence selesai.
Lanjut ke satu lagu lagi, Yamko Rambe. Daniel pun menceritakan pengalamannya sewaktu dia ditempatkan kerja di Pulau Irian. Dia ceritakan betapa indahnya Pulau Irian itu. Ah, gw rasa Bali ngga seindah Irian.
Awalnya sih bener tentang lagu. Makin ke sini jadi sesi maaf-maafan, hehe. Episode berikutnya, kami diminta duduk melingkar dan ngacak.
Sebelah kanan gw Ilham, sebelah kiri gw Fany. Kami diminta untuk nyanyi lagi Sing s Song of Sixpence disusul Yamko Rambe.
“Lihar wajah temen-temen kalian saat mereka nyanyi,” kata Daniel. Gw perhatiin lekat-lekat tiap muka, gw coba simpen di memori jangka panjang gw. Yang paing gw inget adalah Windy Vidya, waktu Sing a Song of Sixpence mengudara, dia nangis sesenggukan. Minggu, 25 Juli 2010. It’s showtime!
We are entertainer. Nyanyi aja sesantai mungkin, ngga usah dibawa deg-degan, kalaupun deg-degan, semenit-dua menit juga ilang. See, manjur tuh resepnya.
SELAUW Gw –kita- nampil fun fun aja, ngga mikirin tuh juri mau ngapain kita. Sekali lagi, we are entertainer. Dag dig dug jedar jeder Nungguin pengumuman finalis Senin malam. Buka website FPS ITB, refresh berkali-kali. Katanya sih jam 12 malem.
Gw langsung bangunin Destha. “Desthaaa, kita masuk finaaaall!”. Wish us luck! Mempersiapkan diri buat babak kompetisi. Hari itu hari Selasa, jam 3an sore kalo ngga salah. Sama seperti kemarin.
Kami duduk acak.
“Pertaubatan,” kata Niar. Daniel berpanjang cerita tentang masa lalunya. Mulai dari masa SMA yang katanya dia badung, sering boong sama orangtua terutama ibu, sampe ketika detik-detik saat dia menjadi seorang ayah.
Kalo udah menyangkut ibu dan anak Daniel ngga tahan katanya. Gw denger suaranya bergetar Mata gw udah kepaku ke arah Daniel, mulut gw cukup terbuka, haha.untung gelap jadi ga ada yang liat. Amanat demi amanat, pesan demi pesan Daniel lontarkan kepada kami. Tentang orangtua, tentang ibu.ngga akan habis cerita tentang pengorbanan seorang ibu., tentang ayah.how I want to hug you, Dad.
Ngga gw minta, air mata gw jatuh sendiri. “Sekarang tutup mata lagi dan nyanyikan Kupinta Lagi,” kata Daniel. Kata pertama, “Hai”, udah bergetar gw nyanyinya.
Tersedu-sedu gw nyanyiin tuh lagu, makin gw tahan air mata gw malah makin mewek suara gw.
Gw lepas kacamata gw dan gw taro di pangkuan gw.masih nutup mata tuh. Tiba-tibaaaaa “Gubraaaakkk!” Suara barang jatoh.
Nyap nyap nyap suara piano pun lenyap. Kevin, sabar yaaaa. Lalalalala, keyboardnya tumbang. Beberapa anak kayaknya pada buka mata. “Lanjutin nyanyinya, lanjutin,” kata Daniel, “Jangan buka mata. Yang buka mata ntar nyesel.
Nyanyi aja terus.”
Nyokap: Mama mau nonton nanti aja, kalo masuk final.
Gw: Yaaah, final kan hari kerja, hari Rabu.
Tadinya gw ngga mau pake kacamata sekalian, tapi kalo ngga pake kacamata jadinya malah ngantuk masa, yaudah gw pinjem aja kacamatanya Destha, pusing sih dikit. Kamis, 29 Juli 2010.
Hari ini pengumuman juara FPS XXII ITB 2010. Acara sebenernya mulai jam 8 pagi, tapi kami baru berangkat jam 10 kurang. Sebelum berangkat Daniel titip pesen: jujur, disiplin, tekun, rendah hati. Ingat itu di manapun dan sampai kapanpun. Sekarang apapun hasilnya, yang penting kalian udah ngasi yang terbaik buat semua. Sebelum benar-benar pergi ninggalin asrama, foto-foto duluuu.
Ini kocak banget, foto per suku gitu. Say goodbye Bakal kangen sama Jalan Sangkuriang No.27.
Ngga lama acara selesai, gw melihat Destha memegang sebuah benda, ya, medali perak. Waaaaah Alhamdulillah Congratulation for us!.
Wah banyak deh kalo dijabarin satu-satu. Yang pasti kekeluargaan, kekompakan, semangat yang terus menyala, disiplin terutama tepat waktu, tanggung jawab, daaaan lain-lain.
Dan gw selalu menyimpulkan: Percaya diri, bukan sombong. Rendah hati, bukan rendah diri. Bilakah kita menangis bersama, tegar melawan tempaan, semangatmu itu jingga GTC, we are the great family! How I love and proud of you, of us!
Semoga semangat kita tetap menyala menyinari tiap jengkal langkah setiap teman kita, meskipun ia jauh, meskipun jarak memisah, meskipun waktu membentang Terima kasih buat SEMUA yang udah ngedukung dan ngedoain GTC dari awal sampe kami benar-benar menggenggam medali ini. Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff (1 April 1873 - 28 March 1943) was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor.
He was one of the finest pianists of his day and, as a composer, the last great representative of Russian late Romanticism in classical music. Early influences of Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and other Russian composers gave way to a thoroughly personal idiom which included a pronounced lyricism, expressive breadth, structural ingenuity and a tonal palette of rich, distinctive orchestral colors. Understandably, the piano figures prominently in Rachmaninoff's compositional output, either as a solo instrument or as part of an ensemble. He made it a point, however, to use his own skills as a performer to explore fully the expressive possibilities of the instrument. Even in his earliest works, he revealed a sure grasp of idiomatic piano writing and a striking gift for melody.

In some of his early orchestral pieces he showed the first signs of a talent for tone painting, which he would perfect in The Isle of the Dead, and he began to show a similar penchant for vocal writing in two early sets of songs, Opp. Rachmaninoff's masterpiece, however, is his choral symphony The Bells, in which all of his talents are fused and unified.
Rachmaninoff sometimes felt threatened by the success of modernists such as Scriabin and Prokofiev and wondered whether to cease composing even before he left Russia. His musical philosophy was rooted in the Russian spiritual tradition, where the role of the artist was to create beauty and to speak the truth from the depths of his heart. In his last major interview, in 1941, he admitted his music, like Russian music, was a product of his temperament. He said, on another occasion, 'The new kind of music seems to create not from the heart but from the head. Its composers think rather than feel. They have not the capacity to make their works exalt—they meditate, protest, analyze, reason, calculate and brood, but they do not exalt.'
Johann Pachelbel (baptized September 1, 1653 – buried March 9, 1706) was a German Baroque composer, organist and teacher who brought the south German organ tradition to its peak. He composed a large body of sacred and secular music, and his contributions to the development of the chorale prelude and fugue have earned him a place among the most important composers of the middle Baroque era. Pachelbel's work enjoyed enormous popularity during his lifetime; he had many pupils and his music became a model for the composers of south and central Germany. Today, Pachelbel is best known for the Canon in D, the only canon he wrote. In addition to the canon, his most well-known works include the Chaconne in F minor, the Toccata in E minor for organ, and the Hexachordum Apollinis, a set of keyboard variations. Pachelbel's music was influenced by southern German composers, such as Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Kaspar Kerll, Italians such as Girolamo Frescobaldi and Alessandro Poglietti, French composers, and the composers of the Nuremberg tradition. Pachelbel preferred a lucid, uncomplicated contrapuntal style that emphasized melodic and harmonic clarity.
His music is less virtuosic and less adventurous harmonically than that of Dieterich Buxtehude, although, like Buxtehude, Pachelbel experimented with different ensembles and instrumental combinations in his chamber music and, most importantly, his vocal music, much of which features exceptionally rich instrumentation. Pachelbel explored many variation forms and associated techniques, which manifest themselves in various diverse pieces, from sacred concertos to harpsichord suites. Henry Roeland 'Roy' Byrd (December 19, 1918 – January 30, 1980), better known as Professor Longhair or 'Fess' for short, was a New Orleans blues singer and pianist. He was active in two distinct periods, first in the heyday of early rhythm and blues and later in the resurgence of interest in traditional jazz after the founding of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 1970. His piano style has been described as 'instantly recognizable, combining rumba, mambo, and calypso.'
The music journalist Tony Russell (in his book The Blues: From Robert Johnson to Robert Cray) wrote that 'The vivacious rhumba-rhythmed piano blues and choked singing typical of Fess were too weird to sell millions of records; he had to be content with siring musical offspring who were simple enough to manage that, like Fats Domino or Huey 'Piano' Smith. But he is also acknowledged as a father figure by subtler players like Allen Toussaint and Dr. Regina Spektor (born February 18, 1980) is a Soviet-born Jewish-American singer-songwriter and pianist. Her music is associated with the anti-folk scene centered on New York City's East Village. Spektor has said that she has created 700 songs, but that she rarely writes any of them down.
She has also stated that she never aspired to write songs herself, but songs seem to just flow to her. Spektor possesses a broad vocal range and uses the full extent of it. She also explores a variety of different and somewhat unorthodox vocal techniques, such as verses composed entirely of buzzing noises made with the lips and beatbox-style flourishes in the middle of ballads, and also makes use of such unusual musical techniques as using a drum stick to tap rhythms on the body of the piano or chair. Her lyrics are equally eclectic, often taking the form of abstract narratives or first-person character studies, similar to short stories or vignettes put to song. Spektor usually sings in English, though she sometimes includes a few words or verses of Latin, Russian, French, and other languages in her songs. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, also known as Chitty the Musical, is a stage musical based on the 1968 film produced by Cubby Broccoli. The music and lyrics were wriiten by Richard and Robert Sherman with book by Jeremy Sams.
It opened in the West End at the London Palladium theatre on April 16, 2002 with six new songs by the Sherman Brothers who wrote the original academy award nominated title and song score as well. The London production, directed by Adrian Noble with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, closed in September 2005. Jamiroquai is a Grammy Award-winning English acid jazz/funk/soul band. Jamiroquai was initially the most prominent component in the early-1990s London-based acid jazz movement, alongside groups such as Incognito, the Brand New Heavies, Galliano, and Corduroy. Subsequent albums have explored other musical directions such as, but not limited to, pop, rock and electronica. Jamiroquai has sold over 2.5 million records in the United States alone and over 21 million records all over the world.
The band name is a blend of Jam session and 'iroquai', based on the Iroquois, a Native American tribe. The lineup of the band has changed several times, and the longest serving and now core members of the band are lead singer and songwriter Jason 'Jay' Kay and drummer Derrick McKenzie (1994).
Despite his self-professed attempts to treat Jamiroquai as a band, Kay has always been at the forefront of how the group is marketed, and has therefore always had the lion's share of media attention, to the point where he is viewed as almost a solo artist. He was the impetus behind the formation of Jamiroquai, deciding to form the band after an unsuccessful audition to become the singer of the Brand New Heavies. William Martin Joel (born May 9, 1949) is an American pianist and singer-songwriter. He released his first hit song, 'Piano Man', in 1973. John William 'Trane' Coltrane (September 23, 1926 – July 17, 1967) was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. Working in the bebop and hard bop idioms early in his career, Coltrane helped pioneer the use of modes in jazz and later was at the forefront of free jazz. He was prolific, making about fifty recordings as a leader during his recording career, and appeared as a sideman on many other albums, notably with trumpeter Miles Davis and pianist Thelonious Monk. As his career progressed, Coltrane's music took on an increasingly spiritual dimension. His second wife was pianist Alice Coltrane, and their son Ravi Coltrane is also a saxophonist.
He influenced innumerable musicians, and remains one of the most significant tenor saxophonists in jazz history. He received many awards, among them a posthumous Special Citation from the Pulitzer Prize Board in 2007 for his 'masterful improvisation, supreme musicianship and iconic centrality to the history of jazz.' Sir John Stainer (6 June 1840 – 31 March 1901) was an English composer and organist whose music, though not generally much performed today (except for The Crucifixion, still heard at Passiontide in many churches of the Anglican Communion), was very popular during his lifetime. His work as choir trainer and organist set standards for Anglican church music that are still influential. He was also active as an academic, becoming Heather Professor of Music at Oxford. Stainer was born in Southwark, London in 1840, the son of a cabinet maker.
He became a chorister at St Paul's Cathedral when aged ten and was appointed to the position of organist at St Michael's College, Tenbury at the age of sixteen. He later became organist at Magdalen College, Oxford, and subsequently organist at St Paul's Cathedral. When he retired due to his poor eyesight and deteriorating health, he returned to Oxford to become Professor of Music at the university. He died unexpectedly while on holiday in Italy in 1901. Randall Stuart “Randy” Newman (born November 28, 1943) is an American singer/songwriter, arranger, composer, and pianist who is notable for his mordant (and often satirical) pop songs and for his many film scores.
Newman is noted for his practice of writing lyrics from the perspective of a character far removed from Newman's own biography. For example, the 1972 song 'Sail Away' is written as a slave trader's sales pitch to attract slaves, while the narrator of 'Political Science' is a U.S. Nationalist who complains of worldwide ingratitude toward America and proposes a brutally ironic final solution. One of his biggest hits, 'Short People' was written from the perspective of 'a lunatic' who hates short people. Since the 1980s, Newman has worked mostly as a film composer. His film scores include Ragtime, Awakenings, The Natural, Leatherheads, James and the Giant Peach, Meet the Parents and Seabiscuit. He has scored five Disney-Pixar films: Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc.
Most recently he scored Princess and the Frog and is set to return for Toy Story 3 and Cars 2. He has been singled out for a number of awards by his colleagues, including an Academy Award, two Emmy Awards, four Grammy Awards, and the Governor's Award from the Recording Academy. Randy Newman was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.
In 2007, Newman was inducted as a Disney Legend. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Swift was the biggest selling artist of 2008 in America with combined sales of more than four million albums. Swift's Fearless and her self-titled album finished 2008 at number three and number six respectively, with sales of 2.1 and 1.5 million. He has also appeared in several films. Collins sang the lead vocals on eight American chart-toppers between 1984 and 1989; seven as a solo artist and one with Genesis.
His singles, often dealing with lost love, ranged from the drum-heavy 'In the Air Tonight', to the dance pop of 'Sussudio', to the political statements of his most successful song, 'Another Day In Paradise'. His international popularity transformed Genesis from a progressive rock group to a regular on the pop charts and an early MTV mainstay.
Collins' professional career began as a drummer, first with obscure rock group Flaming Youth and then more famously with Genesis. In Genesis, Collins originally supplied backing vocals for front man Peter Gabriel, singing lead on only two songs: 'For Absent Friends' from 1971's Nursery Cryme album and 'More Fool Me' from Selling England by the Pound, which was released in 1973. On Gabriel's departure in 1975, Collins became the group's lead singer. As the decade closed, Genesis's first international hit, 'Follow You, Follow Me', demonstrated a drastic change from the band's early years.
His concurrent solo career, heavily influenced by his personal life, brought both him and Genesis commercial success. According to Billboard magazine, she was the most successful artist of the 1990s in the United States. Following her separation from Mottola in 1997, Carey introduced elements of hip hop into her album work, to much initial success, but her popularity was in decline when she left Columbia in 2001, and she was dropped by Virgin Records the following year after a highly publicized physical and emotional breakdown, as well as the poor reception given to Glitter, her film and soundtrack project.

As of May 2005 Diamond had sold 120 million records worldwide, including 48 million records in the U.S.
Though his record sales declined somewhat after the 1980s, Diamond continues to tour successfully, and maintains a very loyal following. Diamond's songs have been recorded by a vast array of performers from many different musical genres. Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984, and in 2000 received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award.
Jacques Offenbach (20 June 1819 – 5 October 1880) was a Prussian-born French composer, cellist and impresario. He is remembered for his nearly 100 operettas of the 1850s–1870s and his uncompleted opera The Tales of Hoffmann. He was a powerful influence on later composers of the operetta genre, particularly Johann Strauss, Jr. And Arthur Sullivan. His best-known works were continually revived during the 20th century, and many of his operettas continue to be staged in the 21st. The Tales of Hoffman remains part of the standard opera repertory.
